Sihle Mboniswa @make-upbysihle_m

Sihle Mboniswa is a self-taught make-up artist based in Khayelitsha, Phakamisa. Like most self-taught MUA’s as they are abbreviated, she learnt her impeccable skills on YouTube.

Sihle’s artistry does not focus on extreme transformation that make make-up seem like a scam. Her artistry focuses on enhancing her client’s beauty so they don’t feel completely different and unrecognisable. She prides herself in being able to accentuate her client’s best features – giving them a boost of confidence.

Make-upbysihle_m prides itself in offering a great service at affordable prices. She has strategically placed herself in the market by understanding her target market and pricing her services to accommodate them. Her target market ranges from students to the working class because they can afford to pay for her services.

Make-upbysihle_m has over a thousand follower on Instagram and Facebook and is looking to move into the influence space. Not only will it popularize her work but will aid in building her business as a brand. A brand that attracts bigger brands and collaborations to cement herself in the influencer marketing space and do what she loves while securing her bag.

Make-up by Sihle's 3 Easy Tips for the perfect base

·        Choose the perfect foundation match for your skin tone

·        Blend patiently – take your time blending for a perfect finish

Wendy Pikelela @Online Wine

Wendy Pikelela is a 25-year-old all rounded entrepreneur. She has been dabbling in multiple entrepreneurial avenues. She has most recently ventured into the business of wine. She is in the wine distribution industry. Her business, Online Wine sources the best wine from manufacturers and sells them at an affordable price while also offering a delivery service.

Online Wine understands that wine is easily available at liquor stores countrywide but it doe not come with convenience, that is where they come in. Getting your wine from Online Wine is as easy as picking up your phone, sending a WhatsApp text and viola – wine at your doorstep.

They do not only sell wine, but convenience as well. Their aim is to make sure you don’t move from your comfort and standing in long queues with lots people exposing yourself to the risk of contracting covid-19. With their service, a limited number of individuals have been in contact with the product and proper measures have been taken to ensure safety and sanitation.

Online Wine strives to get rid of the narrative big corporations have, “We do not deliver in townships.” Township dwellers deserve the luxury and convenience of delivery to your doorsteps, especially now – during a global pandemic. They pride themselves in providing the best quality delivery service to their customers.

While speaking to her, she hinted that she would love to venture into the business of making her own wine and #agirlwithvineyards alongside the great Bonang Matheba. We love a girl with big dreams and is constantly working towards achieving them. We will be here to clap for you when you accomplish that dream.

This Saturday on the 28th November 2020 Online Wine will be having a launch at Isibaya in Harare, 33 Sec Ntlazane Road in Khayelitsha. For more info please follow them on Facebook @OnlineWine

Unathi Zicina @Umyezo Juicery

If clean eating was a person, it would be Unathi Zicina. The 30 year-old Umyezo Juicery founder and CEO is a former chef and used to own her own catering business. That is where her love for healthy eating comes from.

Umyezo Juicery makes raw unpasteurised juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls and other healthy foods. Umyezo Juicery juices are freshly made 100% from locally sourced fruits and vegetables.

Umyezo Juicery juices offers more than just a quench, they are made to support your health and wellness. "Health is Wealth" is not just a saying they believe in. They are using their products to re-enforce it by helping more people understand the importance of health by making it convenient. They do more than just sell juices, they promote and educate about the benefits of healthy eating to their customers and hopefully help them into making it a lifestyle. Their mission is to promote healthy eating habits centered around consuming natural whole foods.

As we all know, fruits and vegetables are packed with tons of vitamins and minerals. When you juice them and not add a single ingredient, you get an enhanced concentration of beneficial nutrients for the body.

Umyezo Juicery Juices Health Benefits

  • Detox
  • Clear skin
  • Alleviate various ailments
  • Increase fruit & vegetable intake easily
  • Quenches thirst in health
One of Unathi's long-term goals is to see Umyezo Juicery in some of the major retail stores in South Africa. Where individuals can easily access them. We love a focused queen setting out to cement their name and become a household brand.

When interviewing Unathi, she had a hard time choosing one she would recommend to a first time customer. She then opted to give me two. One for health freaks like her and for those like me (in for the health ride but don't mind a treat or two. Lol.)
The Green Juice:
  • Most nutrient dense of all juices
  • Has less calories
  • Low sugar content (has more vegetables & herbs than fruit)
  • Great for people trying to lose weight
The Sunshine Juice:
  • Great taste (name says it all)
  • Great balance of flavours (fruits, herbs & spices)
  • Skin tonic (does wonders for the skin)
Below are a few images of Umye Juicery products. For more please follow their social media accounts @Umyezo Juicery of Facebook and @umyezojuicery on Instagram

Mid-year Check-in

Mid-year check-in blog post. I haven’t done this in a while, mainly because life was happening for me and I needed to prioritize. Between school, work and the blog my plate was life and I couldn’t commit to everything at once. Getting my degree is my number one priority and I had to put all my energy towards that. It is the semester break and I couldn’t wait to get back into blogging. I missed this part of my life.   Today’s blog post is a mid-year check in. Like most people, I sat down and worked on my vision board at the beginning of the year. I had short, medium and long term goals on there. Creating a vision board is all fun but that’s not where the work stops. We actually need to have systems in place to help us achieve these goals. Right before I sat down to pen this blog post, I went through my vision board to see how far I have come regarding my goals in the first 6 months of the year and to be honest, I am happy with my overall progress. I broke down my vi...

Embracing Our Blackness

The title of this blog post is a double entendre and we are going to explore both meanings. Firstly, it means embracing the actual colour of your skin. Secondly, it means embracing the fact that you are a black woman, no matter your skin colour.   For years, being black was shunned upon. Being black and dark in skin colour was even worse. Our ancestors walked through hell for us. They endured endless humiliation about their race, skin colour, hair, how they spoke & body features. The sad part is that all of this is still very much prevalent in present day South Africa. It might not be at the same extent, but it still does exist. 27 years later and we’re still subject to such discrimination.   We cannot control how and what other races think about us, but we can control how and what we think about ourselves. What we’re not going to do in 2021 is inflict self-hate because of other people’s opinions. We are BOLD. We are BEAUTIFUL. We are BRILLIANT. We are BLACK...
